DELAWARE — Friday Night Lights are back in full swing, with 14 high school football games across the state tonight and a marquee matchup at the top of the slate.
No. 2 ranked Middletown hosts Our Lady of Good Counsel (Md.) at 7 p.m. in one of the state’s most anticipated games of the season. Also on tonight’s card: No. 5 Appoquinimink hosts Dover, No. 6 Howard takes on McKean, and No. 7 Archmere Academy squares off against St. Mark’s, all at 6 or 7 p.m.

Off the field, DIAA also announced this year’s Dale Farmer Sportsmanship Award winners, honoring eight member schools for building positive athletic environments rooted in respect, integrity, character and fair play.
Why it matters: the award is a reminder that Delaware’s student athletes are being recognized for more than just wins and losses. It’s about the character they build on the field, something that will carry them well beyond high school sports.
