Delaware State Stuns Norfolk State at Lincoln Financial Field
The biggest Delaware sports news of the weekend came from Philadelphia, where DeSean Jackson and Delaware State rallied to beat Michael Vick and Norfolk State on Saturday, Oct. 31. The two former Eagles teammates brought a paid crowd of 32,567 to Lincoln Financial Field, and the game lived up to the billing.
The Spartans jumped out to a 17-0 lead before the Hornets answered with 10 straight points to cut it to 17-10 at halftime. Norfolk State outscored Delaware State 16-9 in the third quarter, but the Hornets scored 17 unanswered points in the fourth and won it on a 35-yard field goal as time expired.
Quarterback Marqui Adams completed 17 of 23 passes for 243 yards and four touchdowns, and the win moved Delaware State to 5-4. HBCU Sports has more on the comeback.
Middletown Upsets No. 1 Salesianum in High School Game of the Week
No. 4 Middletown knocked off No. 1 Salesianum 35-10 on Friday, Oct. 30, in the high school game of the week on 302 Sports. Buck Miller led the way with 20 rushes for 228 yards and two touchdowns, and the result leaves Delaware high school football wide open this year.

The Eagles returned to prime time on Sunday, Nov. 1, while battling a long injury list that included Jalen Hurts and DeVonta Smith. Philadelphia trailed 13-10 at halftime and 16-10 heading into the fourth quarter, but Washington pulled away for a 27-10 win. The loss was the Eagles’ sixth straight and dropped them to 2-6.
