Who Is Coach Joe Richmond?
Coach Joe has been part of the Blue Coats family for years as the team’s ambassador of basketball, greeting fans on game days and representing the team in schools and neighborhoods across Delaware.
His basketball résumé is one of a kind. A South Philadelphia native and Navy veteran, Joe spent years as a coach and referee with the Washington Generals, the team that tours the world against the Harlem Globetrotters, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer. Today, he uses the game to inspire kids and families right here at home.
