Sen. Nicole Poore on Jobs for Delaware Graduates
State Sen. Nicole Poore, President of Jobs for Delaware Graduates (JDG), joins Matt and Ashley to talk about the organization’s upcoming fundraising event on Thursday, October 29, and the work JDG does every day to help Delaware students prepare for their futures.
Jobs for Delaware Graduates is a homegrown Delaware nonprofit that helps young people build the skills, confidence, and real-world experience they need to succeed after high school. The program started right here in the First State and became the model for the national Jobs for America’s Graduates network. Events like this fundraiser help keep that support going for the next generation of Delaware students.

Why Breast Cancer Screening Matters in Delaware
Later in the show, Adriana Viveros-Sosa of the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition (DBCC) explains why breast cancer screening is so important and how early detection can make a real difference for someone receiving a diagnosis.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which makes it a great time to schedule a mammogram, talk with your doctor about your personal risk, and check in with the women in your life. For more than 30 years, the DBCC has supported Delawareans through education, outreach, and support programs for people and families affected by breast cancer.
Not sure when to start? The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends that women at average risk get a screening mammogram every other year starting at age 40. If you have a family history of breast cancer or notice any changes, such as a new lump, skin changes, or nipple discharge, talk with your health care provider about what’s right for you.
